The Backlot sure has changed over the years, but it still remains the area of Disney's Hollywood Studios where movie production is the star of the show. On the Backlot, you'll find access to special areas of the park ordinarily not available to park guests as well as attractions that showcase some of the special effects of how movie magic is made.
The majority of the Backlot area is comprised ot the Backlot Tour. Here, you'll experience how a water tank makes complicated outdoor shots practical and then you're off to a tram tour of the Backlot area of Disney's Hollywood Studios that is closed off to the public, where you will find a boneyard of movie props as well as a surprise or two.
After, check out Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, one of the newest stage and stunt attractions at Walt Disney World. Here, a director will explain to you how those amazing movie stunts we see in our favorite action films are done, whether it's by car, motorcycle or jet ski.
And don't forget to stop by Muppetvision 3D, where the entire Muppet cast is waiting to show you their latest innovention, three dimensional Muppets! With the Muppets, nothing is ordinary and soon you'll discover the real "benefits" of this new development.
