It’s time to dive back into the Great Movie Ride and talk about an important detail in the attraction that is often overlooked, especially by those unfamiliar with the films portrayed in the attraction. In the gangster scene, we see James Cagney at the door talking to someone else behind the door. The door is the entrance to the Red Oaks Social Club, and given the scenery and look, one can tell this isn’t a family friendly place.

The Red Oak Social Club is the name of the club from the film "The Public Enemy", a classic 1931 Warner Brothers gangster film, in which Cagney’s character used Mae Clark’s nose as a grapefruit grinder. The club is from a famous scene in the film where Cagney attempts to enter the club and Imagineers recreated the facade of the club along with a Cagney Audio-Animatronic to pay homage to this classic film.
