Winter has been really crazy this year and with all the time spent indoors daydreaming of warmer days in Disney World I discovered this great book called “Chef Mickey Treasures from the Vault & Delicious New Favorites” by Pam Brandon and the Disney Chefs. This book is filled with recipes from Walt Disney World, Disneyland and the Disney Cruise Line from back in the day until the present. It also gives a brief history lesson into some of the old restaurants that are no longer around. It was interesting seeing the different menu styles of Disneyland/Disney World of yesteryear. All the recipes in here have been formatted to make it easy on the inexperienced cook to create these meals at home. From drinks, to special sauces, to fish, to steak and dessert it has it all.
One of the ways I love to bring some of the Disney magic home between trips is to cook up a dish from one of my favorite restaurants. I love the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier, the Sautéed Sea Scallops from Flying Fish Cafe and the Hollywood Brown Derby Cobb Salad. This also a great way to get the kids in the kitchen to help out with dinner and spend some quality family time together. I recommend this book to anyone who is a foodie, a newbie in the kitchen or just someone who overall loves Disney food. You can purchase this cookbook on Amazon or through DisneyStore.com.
