The Best Snacks at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney World is best known for its classic attractions but there are definitely a large portion of fans out there that also look forward to going to Walt Disney World to enjoy the food offered.  You can definitely include me in the group of people that love to indulge when visiting the park and at Disney's Hollywood Studios, there's a few snacks that I always look forward to enjoying.

This week, I thought it would be fun to list the best snacks that are available in the Studios.  I tried to go with snacks that are unique to the park, but there are some that may be available elsewhere in Walt Disney World too.  Nonetheless, here are my picks for the best snacks you can find in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Butterfinger Cupcake at Starring Rolls Bakery

Perhaps the most famous snack at Disney's Hollywood Studios is the Butterfinger cupcake that can be found at Starring Rolls Bakery.  I'm not sure if it's the gargantuan size or the taste that really sell folks on this rotund pastry, but it's hard to argue that it isn't very tasty.  Like many snacks at Walt Disney World, it's sheer size makes it nearly a meal and you wont hear anyone complaining.  Consistantly moist and sweet, the Butterfinger cupcake is something you have to try at least once to really appreciate.

Funnel Cakes at Oasis Canteen

Growing up, I always had my funnel cakes with sugar but some genius (perhaps a mad genius) at Walt Disney World decided to offer funnel cakes with ice cream and since then, western civilization as we know it has changed (for the better).  The funnel cakes at Oasis Canteen (the little shack near the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular) offers funnel cakes with an assortment of ice cream flavors to place on there.  You can still choose to have traditional sugar, but Oasis Canteen definitely favors an ice cream accompaniment.

Just the aroma that you'll take in as you pass by is reason enough to stop here for a treat.  And like the Butterfinger cupcake, it is an enormous serving size.  Fair warning, these bad boys will make a big mess, but let me be the first to say that it's completely worth it.

Frozen Sodas at Peevy's Polar Pipeline

Since it's usually quite warm at Disney's Hollywood Studios throughout the year, a cool refreshing beverage is a great idea and if you want something more than a typical carbonated syrup, try the frozen sodas at Peevy's Polar Pipeline.  Disney's version of slushies stands out as a really great treat to get you through those hot summer afternoons in the park.

Milk shakes at 50's Prime Time Cafe

It's hard to go wrong with a milk shake anywhere, but the milk shakes offered at 50's Prime Time Cafe are heavenly.  There's something about them that make them taste just a little bit better than your typical milk shake.  It might be the enormous size of them, or the fact you can order a peanut butter and jelly milk shake, or maybe it's just how well they compliment the comfort food found in 50's Prime Time Cafe.  Whatever the reason, the milk shakes here are amazing and worth trying.

We should mention that you can also order milk shakes at Min & Bill's Dockside Diner if you'd rather skip the sit down restaurant experience.  In addtition, you can also order milk shakes at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater restaurant.

Carrot Cake Cookie at Writer's Stop

I'm going to admit that I'm not really a fan of the carrot cake cookies, but there's a certain subculture of Disney's Hollywood Studios fans that love these things.  They are quite large and have a very moist cake to them.  But I can't say they do anything for me.  That being said, I know plenty of people that swear by them so they're going to make our list.

The carrot cake cookies are available at the Writer's Stop and can best be described as two carrot cake cookies seperated by a healthy offering of cream cheese.  Like so many other snacks featured here, its ample size is a benefit and it's great for sharing.
