Love it or hate it, lots of Walt Disney World guests use the Disney Dining Plan and if you find yourself using it, there are definitely some counter service dishes in Disney's Hollywood Studios that are a much better value than others. We're not going to consider the actual taste of the food. Rather, we're going to look at the choices you can make at the Studios that will give you the best bang for your buck.
Back in 2010 Fairfax Fare changed its menu to include a lot more BBQ food and the result is one of the most expensive counter service options in the park. If you're on the Disney Dining Plan, then it's one of the best values out there. Prices for entrees here start at $10 and go up to almost $15.
In particular, the chicken and spare ribs ($14.19) and the 1/2 slab of spareribs ($10.69) stand out as the best choices. Both choices are served with baked beans and coleslaw
We're not sure why but ABC Commissary is the home of the most expensive burger in Disney's Hollywood Studios. At $10.29, this cheeseburger gives you the best return on your investment if you've got a hankering for a burger. I suspect the shrimp drives the price up compared to the other burgers available in Disney's Hollywood Studios, even if the burger patties all taste the same to us.
You do get your choice of french fries or carrot sticks.
Coming in a few quarters cheaper than the shrimp burger, the onion straw burger at Backlot Express is another expensive burger choice available to you ($9.79). Considering that Backlot Express offers unlimited drink refills, there's a good argument to make that there's extra value here.
This burger also comes with a choice of french fries or carrot sticks.
Our last value proposition is at Studio Catering Co and its the turkey club sandwich. At $9.99, this is one expensive turkey sandwich but it will net you a good value on the Disney Dining Plan if you're looking for something healthier than our other choices.
We do need to note the recent addition of the Fantasmic! Dining Experience choices as excellent values on the Disney Dining Plan. It's relatively new, but basically you choose one of these choices for lunch (most cost $14.99) and as a bonus you receive of reserved seating for Fanasmic!.
It's a relatively new option but in terms of cost and the Disney Dining Plan, it's hard to overlook if you're simply looking to get the best return on what you paid (or got for free, depending on how you got the Disney Dining Plan).
There you have it, our list of the best counter service restaurant choices at Disney's Hollywood Studios for value on the Disney Dining Plan. Please note that we're not considering how the food tastes, just looking at things from a pure profit standpoint. Enjoy!
