The Future of Pizza Planet

Arguably one of the most amazing features to Disney's Hollywood Studios is their ability to really transport you our of Florida and in to Hollywood. To me, walking right down the middle of Sunset Boulevard is just as thrilling as walking right down the middle of Main Street USA.

At Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney takes your thoughts of being a star and makes it a reality through television experiences like American Idol and The Twilight Zone, makes you a VIP for an Aerosmith concert in a super-stretch limo, and makes you part of the action at the Backlot and in a filming of Indiana Jones.

But these experiences don't stop with the attractions. You can also emmerse yourself with feeling like you're in the movies with a trip to the beloved Pizza Planet.

Of course named after everyone's favorite movie, Toy Story, Pizza Planet lets you experience the film's featured restaurant with an arcade along with great counter service food.

What surprised me is that it is one of the locations that also serves beer in Disney Hollywood Studios. So if you're an adult looking for beer and pizza…make sure you visit Pizza Planet!

Easily located in the Muppet Courtyard with thei big yellow and blue sign in Disney's Hollywood Studios, Pizza Planet offers slightly more than just…well, pizza. Looking for salad? They have a tasty Chicken Salad available, and if you're not a fan of meat, they have a good veggie pizza for you too.

Now what if Disney took this idea and gave it the Tron twist. Would it work? Would an arcade with up-to-date video games, virtual reality and more be suitable for it? This is something I could see Disney doing to Pizza Planet as another Tron sequel may be inevitable given it's recent success. Disneyland certainly did a lot of hype for Tron with elecTRONica this year. And Walt Disney World had it's Tronorail, which I suspect may disappear soon So is there a future for Tron at Disney's Hollywood Studios?.

We'll have to see; time will tell. And in the meantime, I'll stick to my Pizza Planet.
