The Automobiles of the Studios

Hey guys! Cory here for today's Darkroom post. One of my favorite types of photography to do anywhere is automotive photography. Old cars, new cars, I love taking pictures of vehicles. I think the crisp lines, bright colors, and shiny chrome can always make for a great shot. That said, I always have a good time taking some shots of the cars at Disney's Hollywood Studios!

These classic automobiles are full of chrome and really add to the theme of their sections of the park. I like to shoot them wide, like the taxi above, and I also like to shoot them tight, like this shot of the truck in front of Oscar's:

My favorite car in the Studios is the vintage Cadillac outside the Planet Hollywood shop. It encompasses the classic Hollywood vibe of Sunset Boulevard, and the Studios itself.

The way it's parked under a canopy really makes it seem like it's a car that belongs to a Hollywood superstar. Combining these cars with all the Art Deco theme that goes along both Hollywood and Sunset Blvd. really surrounds us in the "Hollywood that never was – and always will be."

I spend a good chunk of my time photographing the studios hanging out by some of these classics, and hopefully next time you're in the park, you'll consider doing so as well, as there are lots of great photographic opportunities in doing so! Thanks for reading, and we'll see ya real soon!
