"All of Hollywood Studios that's fit to print"

Ran across a few juicy rumors regarding characters coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios and wanted to pass them along.

Wreck-it Ralph is scheduled to become a meet-n-greet character this fall at the Studios. He will replace Winnie the Pooh inside the Magic of Disney Animation, at which point Pooh will transition back to meeting guests near the Sorcerer's Hat.  An opening is likely mid-October.

Agent P (Perry the Platypuss) could be joining Phineas and Ferb at their meet location in the Backlot of Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Expect Perry to appear later this fall.

Tip of the hat to Kenny The Pirate for...

We're hearing a report that Jake, from the Disney Junior show, "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" is coming to the Hollywood & Vine restaurant for breakfast and lunch this fall.

We don't have an exact start date yet, but a November time frame is expected.

We had heard a credible rumor back in August that Jake was set to replace the Little Einstein characters but it remains to be seen just what will actually happen.  We do have it on good authority that Jake will definitely be a character guests can meet soon.

UPDATE: Jake will make his meet-n-...

I read a rumor over the weekend that I thought I'd pass along to others who are looking forward to meeting some characters on their next trip to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The rumor, provided by David Harrison, claims a Cast Member told him that the Little Einsteins character meet outside of Disney Junior - Live On Stage will be replaced with a chararacter meet-n-greet from Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

Assuming this is true, the changeover should happen sometime in October.  I should of course caution everyone that this is still a rumor and not confirmed.  There's also no word of what fate the Little...

We first heard about Lightning McQueens inclusion of Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show back in April and at long last, the star of Cars and Cars 2 has made his debut in the stunt show.

The new Cars 2 meet-n-greet has opened to the public today, featuring Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater.

While the characters are the same two, Lightning McQueen has gotten a makeover to reflect his new look from the Cars 2 film.

In addition, their meet area has been transformed from Luigi's Garage to match the garage Lightning can be found in the film.

The new meet-n-greet is open every day at Hollywood Studios during regular park operating hours.

DIsney has updated that the addition of Lightning McQueen to Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt show will take place "later this summer".  We've heard Lightning's debut has been delayed again because of issues with the car and having to be sent back for further work to fix some aesthetic issues.

Lightning's role will replace that of Herbie the Love Bug and will feature a new vignette between stunts that features Lightning helping Tow Mater and a tie in to the upcoming Cars 2 film.

In addition, the meet-n-greet area is still under construction but will eventually change from Luigi's Garage theme to "the Winner’s Circle", where the area will be adorned with "larger-than-life trophies and posters that depict famous races from around the world".

The Lightning McQueen...

This week I had the pleasant surprise of being in the Studios the day Phineas and Ferb's new meet & greet opened. Located in between Mama Melrose's and MuppetVision 3D, you'll find our favorite stepbrothers (and one elusive platypus) hanging out on the set of their backyard under their favorite tree.

The story for me, however, was not the meet & greet, but the queue, and what was going on while you were waiting. Months ago, Disney held auditions for directors to helm a new project- Phineas and Ferb: "We're Making a Movie" The Movie. I was under the assumption this would be some sort of show with the director and the characters, and THEN they would meet with guests. It is kind of a show, but not on the scale I imagine. Basically the director comes out and...

Yesterday we announced that the Phineas and Ferb meet-n-greet was being pushed back to May 29 and today we're getting word from Disney that the new meet-n-greet for Winnie the Pooh inside the Magic of Disney Animation has also had its opening pushed back.

The Winnie the Pooh meet area, which replaces the Lotso-Huggin-Bear meet area, was scheduled to open May 16.  No new date has been named by Disney, they've simply said, "Pooh’s new meet and greet experience at The Magic of Disney Animation attraction also has been pushed back".

Earlier in April, the opportunity to visit Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater and Finn McMissile (Cars 2) arose during their "Agents on a Mission" Cars Tour 2011 (Presented by State Farm). Since I know how much my daughter loved meeting McQueen and Mater on our most recent trip to the Studios, I thought it would be worth checking out. After all, how often do you get a chance to visit these beloved Pixar characters in your hometown? As this tour is travelling through the U.S. until June 24, I thought it might be helpful to discuss whether or not it's worth the trek and the long lines to see these characters on tour.
So I loaded my two kids up in the van, along with my friend and her daughter, and off we went on our half hour drive to the mall where our Cars friends were going to be appearing that day. The first thing that we noticed when we walked through the doors was the hour long line! Wow, I've...

Starting in June, Lightning McQueen will replace Herbie the love bug in Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show.

Herbie had been part of the show since the attraction debuted in Disney's Hollywood Studios but the opportunity to create synergy between the parks and the upcoming Cars 2 film was too good to pass up.

No specific date is set yet for Lightning's first appearance but over in Disneyland Paris, he has already become part of the show.

Thanks to our friend Paul Chadkin for the hat tip!
