As you know, each week on Studios Central we publish a weekly photo update that shows you what's new and happening in Disney's Hollywood Studios. While photos can tell you a lot about what's going on in the park, it can't tell the whole story and often during these updates I notice something that can't be captured in a photograph so we're going to start blogging about our report from the week.
These weekly reports will run at the same time the photo updates are published and will be quick notes to pass along to you. They may not be earth moving, amazing details, but these in-park anecdotes will serve to compliment the photo update many of you have come to enjoy looking at each week.
Here's this week's report from this week's photos
- Not sure why, but the Christmas overlay...
On New Year's Day 2011, one of my favorite parts of Disney's Hollywood Studios came to a close. Block Party Bash ran for almost three years after transferring from Disney's California Adventure park on the West Coast to Walt Disney World over the Winter of 2008.
Normally I wouldn't be caught dead at a parade. For me, parades and fireworks were always a good time to hit attractions while everyone else had stopped to wave at the Fab Five. But Block Party Bash was different for me. For those who know me, it could always be the fact that the parade was preceded by *MY* favorite characters: The Citizens of Hollywood, performing a pre-parade radio show all down Hollywood Boulevard. But I think what always drew me in every time was it's...
Yesterday was Citizen of Hollywood LeRoy Small's last day in the park. Often, these talented actors find themselves moving on to something else in their career but LeRoy had been a fan favorite at Hollywood Studios and his fellow cast decided to roast him a little before saying goodbye. Enjoy this video of LeRoy's last performance in Hollywood.
Disney has rolled out new designer burgers to help create new flavors to their existing burger line across Walt Disney World. In Hollywood Studios, there are three locations where you can find these new options.
Backlot Express: 1/3lb Angus Avocado Cheeseburger topped with diced avocado, sweet onion ring, lettuce, tomato and special sauce
ABC Commissary: Angus Cheeseburger crowned with fried shrimp - a cheddar cheeseburger topped with fried shrimp, a sweet onion ring, tomato, pickle, lettuce and a special sauce.

I'd like to welcome special guest blogger, and long time Studios Central alum, Yulady Rodriguez, who spent her New Years Eve 2011 at Disney's Hollywood Studios. She graciously took the time to report her experience and share it with all of us. Big thank you to Yulady!
We arrived at 3:30pm, first thing that struck me was the amount of people in the ticket booths buying same day entrance. It was not packed, wall to wall, but it was very full. We got FASTPASS's for Tower of Terror return time 10:30pm-11pm. Walked around for a bit and while Hollywood...
Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun!, the new parade at Disney's Hollywood Studios, will have it's first show on January 16, 2011 but Disney has already added the parade to the park maps starting today.
Block Party Bash had it's last performance at the Studios on January 1st and for the next two weeks, there will be no afternoon parade while Cast Members prepare for the new parade's debut.
Special thanks to Paul Chadkin for providing a photo of the new park map
