"All of Hollywood Studios that's fit to print"

Coming up next week, Playhouse Disney - Live On Stage will close for a month long refurbishment to become Disney Junior - Live on Stage.  Because it will be closed for about a month, the closure will also impact the Evening Extra Magic Hours dance party where kids could dance to music with Disney characters.

As a result, during the Playhouse Disney closure, the Evening Extra Magic Hours dance party will be held inside the...

Today we take a look back at last year's spooky celebrations on Sunset Boulevard. But while most might connect the Halloween holiday with the Tower of Terror, this past October was the ever eventful month for our Citizens of Hollywood.

(alright, enough with the alliterations)

First was the pumpkin carving contest. The cast members of Disney's Hollywood Studios had a competition to see which team could create the best Jack-o-Lantern. After days of judging, it led up to the final round, this time judged by the park guests. The finalists were:

Disney has increased the amount of Fantasmic! shows for February 2011, presumably to accomodate the crowds they are expecting.  Aside from adding Fantasmic! to February 19, no additional days were added to the calendar but showings have doubled for each night except for February 27.

The increase in shows is no surprise, given February is a busy month at Walt Disney World with President's Week vacation for many schools.  Disney's current modus operandi is to put out as lean a Fantasmic! schedule as possible and then increase the show schedule as they see fit to meet the needs...

Each week, we talk about what we saw and experience during our weekly photo update inside Disney's Hollywood Studios.  While the photos we take tell a lot, they cannot explain everything going on in the park so this weekly blog series will hopefully fill in the missing parts of the update.

Be sure to reference this week's photo update before reading this entry.

  • Hollywood Studios was very crowded due to the Fantasmic! schedule.  The park was packed, which is really unusual for this time of the year and it's clear that the current showings of Fantasmic! make the Studios a nightmare during times of the year when there aren't that many...

We're continuing our series of blog posts that celebrate the Disney Moms Panel and its class of 2011 by getting to know select members of the panel and what they think of Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Yesterday we had a chance to speak with Suzannah DiMarzio and today we'll keep things rolling with Marc Lorenzo, one of the dads on the panel.  Marc has been very active in the Disney Internet community even before we was picked to be on the Moms Panel and he continues to be a vocal supporter of not only all things Disney, but the fans of Disney as well.  Let's meet Marc!

When was your first visit to Disney's...

The Disney Mom's Panel has just ushered in their Class of 2011 and I thought it might be fun to get to know some of the moms on the Panel and what their thoughts are regarding Disney's Hollywood Studios.

What is the Disney Mom's Panel?  It's a group of men and women who Disney has selected to help answer trip planning questions about Walt Disney World and other Disney destinations.  To say the least, they answer a lot of questions and do a great job with it.

Today's Disney Mom Panelist is Suzannah DiMarzio, although you might know her better as the author of the wildly popular...

Today's entry is by a guest blogger, Nicole Siscaretti, who recently auditioned and made it onto the American Idol Experience show.  She's took the time to write about her experience and share it with all of us.  Thanks Nicole!

I scurried up to the gate with my friends Chris and Megan. This was my first rope drop at Disney's Hollywood Studios and we knew what attraction we were ready to run for. As we shimmied through the turn-styles and headed to wait on Hollywood Boulevard for the park to open, our focus was stolen by a sign on the left. The ever popular American Idol symbol stood printed on a screen...
