A couple years ago, I got the opportunity to tour the Disney Wedding Pavillion at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with some friends. At the age of 20, I was in no way looking to plan my special day any time soon, but it was still very interesting to learn all the different aspects that go into planning a Disney wedding, from the florist to the chef and caterers to all the different venues where you can tie the knot.
However, the thing that hooked me was something listed as “Themed Entertainment”. Yes, you can have pretty much any character you want attend you wedding, from Mickey & Minnie to Cinderella’s royal guards, herald and major domo. But the thing that caught my eye were these Streetmosphere-esque improv players who portray tacky tourists, uninvited guests, and embarrassing family members. This...
Back for another WDW Photography guest post here on Studios Central. Cory and I are really enjoying these articles and being able to focus on some Hollywood Studios photography, hopefully you are enjoying reading them also! We have lots of future ideas in mind, in fact Cory is at Walt Disney World this week and mentioned taking photos at Hollywood Studios specifically for future articles.
For this week I wanted to showcase some photos of the Citizens of Hollwood at Hollywood Studios. People who follow my photography on flickr and on WDW Photography will know that I am a huge fan of the Citizens of Hollywood cast. In fact, the majority of my photos from Hollywood Studios include the citizens in...
Back in April, I blogged about Bucky Greenhorn leaving to join the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue ( http://www.studioscentral.com/blog/2011/04/15/studios-says-aloha-bucky-greenhorn .. Bucky G)) I recently had the delightful opportunity to attend a dress rehearsal for another Hoop Dee Doo, to see some new changes to the show and some new faces, including that of Melvin Macheezmo! Now, before you get you knickers in a twist, let me calm you by saying Melvin is not moving in with his best friend Bucky and leaving Hollywood. He will still be roaming Sunset Boulevard, humoring guests and fawning after Miss Paige Turner. Melvin is joining the cast as a "sub" for the...
I recently got a request from Studios Central fan Peter Fay to spend some time with Hollywood socialite Evie Starlight as she put her own spin on the classic Disney fairy tale, "Cinderella". The following is the hilarious result.
PS- If you are a fan of the Hoop Dee Doo Revue or Bucky Greenhorn, stay tuned through the end to get a humorous update on Evie and Bucky's relationship. You don't want to miss it!
There's some new streetmosphere in Hollywood Studios to check out starting today. The new "modern day film crew" is a group of street performers similar to the Citizens of Hollywood, except they are based on the Streets of America and are not set in the 1940s. These performers are set in the modern day and here's a video of their first bit.
So what do you think? Are you excited to see this new group of street theater performed on your next trip?
This article is long overdue. Partially due to scheduling conflicts, but most because I don't want to finish and publish it. If I publish it, that makes it final, and I don't want this to be true.
Over the past couple months we have been reporting on all the changes coming to Disney Hollywood Studios' Streetmosphere troupe, the Citizens of Hollywood. Probably the biggest upset of them all was the shocking announcement that fan favorite, Hollywood's Next Leading Man Bucky Greenhorn, was leaving. I had the bittersweet pleasure of being present for his last day, and got an exclusive first look at what's next for our ukelele superstar.
It started that Friday at 4 o'clock, with Bucky's last concert. As I set up my camera at...
We posted some Citizens of Hollywood news yesterday that we heard about that I was confident was accurate. Turns out a lot more is going on in Hollywood these days. One of our Studios Central bloggers shared with me more rumors he had heard. I think it's worth passing along if it's true, but assume these are rumors until we get further verification.
Today we take a look at a faction of the Citizens of Hollywood - the Hollywood Public Works - as they play a fun interactive game with kids.
Be sure to keep an eye our for upcoming Bench Blogs, where we will be featuring and paying homage to individual Citizens and characters, as big changes are coming to Hollywood.
Some not-so-great news coming out of the Citizens of Hollywood Human Resources department. We've learned two current Streetmosphere characters in Hollywood Studios will not be around as much, if at all.
Otto Von Bonn Bahn, the eccentric German director, indicated on his personal Facebook page that April 17th will be his last day in a full time role and afterwards, he will regress to a part time role to fill in for other citizens when they are on vacation.
While we will still Otto from time to time, we're hearing...
Until now, there was no posted schedule for the hillarious Citizens of Hollywood (commonly known as streetmosphere characters). They were predictable enough, but Disney would not post their schedule of apperances until now. Starting this week, Disney has started posting the Citizens of Hollywood times in the times guide to let guests know when to expect them.
While it's nice to have the posted schedule, you can still bet on seeing them on the opposite half hour of Disney...
