Team Studios Central Profile – Yulady Rodriguez

Hola Amigos!  Meet Team Studios Central runner, Yulady Rodriguez.  Married and a mother of two children, a 16-year old boy and 12-year old girl, Yulady has been a local Orlando resident for the past 16 years who is very fluent in the Spanish language.  Originally from Maracay, Venezuela she moved to Orlando after earning her degree in hotel management and tourism.  She’s now a stay-at-home mom and is grateful to be able to spend a lot of time with her children.

Yulady remembers when she was a skinny twig and a very accomplished swimmer up until the age of 10.  At that point the weight challenge began in her life.  She’d gain and lose weight consistently until 2011 when she made a conscience decision to lose it and keep it off for good.  Through a steady diet of fruits and vegetables Yulady managed to lose 30 pounds and has done very well keeping that weight off today.  Of course, no diet is complete without exercise and fitness.  Yulady enjoys the Latin-inspired workout called Zumba, strength training, and other fitness regiments to help provide a variety for her active lifestyle.

Running has become a big part of Yulady’s life.  She decided to give it a try when Team Studios Central started back in early 2011.  Before then she had never ran a minute in her life.  She always thought running was out of her reach until she started watching other Disney World races.  After seeing all of the fun, joy, and accomplishment that came with a Disney race Yulady knew she had to give it a try.  After joining the team she immediately signed-up for the Royal Family 5k during Princess Half Marathon Weekend.  She also began Jeff Galloway’s Couch to 5k program.  Yulady remembers her first 5k like it was yesterday.  She was nervous and wasn’t sure how’d she feel at the end of the race.  When she crossed the finish line she recalls having a great race and could even go another 3.1 miles.  She’s now a believer that with training and determination any distance is possible.  With her confidence sky high she finished the Tower of Terror 10-Miler last October and the Princess Half Marathon this past February.  She continues to finish additional races and looks forward to even further running accomplishments in the future.

As a local Orlando resident, Yulady visits Disney World often with her family.  She loves interacting with Cast Members.  She realizes the difficulty of their job, but says they still find a way to create the magic for guests each day.

Team Studios Central has become an extended family to Yulady.  She’s enjoyed getting to know everyone and feels blessed to share running knowledge with the team.  In her free time she enjoys reading, watching TV, and exploring nature by walking along nature trails.

Yulady has been a true team inspiration.  She’s accomplished a lot over the past 2 years and continues to impress everyone with her determination.  Before we go she has one more item to share with us.  ‘I want everyone to know that a wise man once said’, “All our dreams can come true if you have the courage to pursue them”; ‘this is so true!  You can do it, you just need to take the first step and jump.’

If you are interested in joining Team Studios Central you can find all of the information here.  We are a running team dedicated to staying healthy and making a difference in the community at the same time.
