Credit card guarantee required for some Hollywood Studios restaurants starting October 26

Effective October 26, 2011, Walt Disney World will require guests to provide a credit card to hold a reservation at select restaurants.  If the guest fails to show up for the reservation and/or does not cancel at least one day in advance, Disney World will charge a penalty of $10 per person listed on the reservation.

Effective October 26, 2011, Walt Disney World will require guests to provide a credit card to hold a reservation at select restaurants.  If the guest fails to show up for the reservation and/or does not cancel at least one day in advance, Disney World will charge a penalty of $10 per person listed on the reservation.

There are a number of Signature Restaurants and Character Dining Restaurants but this new policy affects the following restaurants in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Guests may cancel their reservations at any table service restaurant, any guest relations location, on the Disney World Dining web site, or by calling the dining cancellation number 407-WDW-CNCL.  A full list of restaurants that will be affected by this change can be found here thanks to our friends at TouringPlans.com.

What do you think of this new policy?  Do you agree that Disney should charge guests who do not show up for their reservations?
