January 31, 2011 Studios Report

Every week we get a chance to conduct our weekly photo update in Hollywood Studios and while a photo can be worth a thousand words, some times there isn't a photo to describe something going on in the park, hence this weekly blog entry!

Be sure to reference this week's photo update before reading this entry.

  • Crowds in January on Fantasmic! days were considerably worse than other days of the month given that January's Fantasmic! show schedule was quite slim to begin with.  Park was once again busy with lots of tour groups and guests spending their day in the park mostly because of Fantasmic! that evening.
  • As you can see in the photo update, we took some photos of the bronze statues at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame because we think those statues are either new or re-done.  I think Betty White had been there but her statue looks new but the other two, Harvey Korman and Desi Arnaz, not so sure about.
  • We were surprised to find still no visible work being done on the exterior of Star Tours.  Either they are waiting to re-do the exterior towards the end of the refurbishment or the exterior won't change much.
  • If you want a milk shake but aren't willing to go to the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater or 50's Prime Time Cafe, there's good news: Min and Bill's Dockside Diner serve them.
