Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun! is the afternoon parade at Disney's Hollywood Studios that features characters from some of Pixar's recent films. The parade includes characters from The Incredibles, A Bug's Life, Ratatouille, Monsters Inc, Up and Toy Story. The parade includes many floats that have been repurposed for use again from its predecessor, Block Party Bash.
Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun! begins on Hollywood Boulevard, travels towards to the Sorcerer's Hat and then proceeds past Echo Lake and ends near Jedi Training Academy.
Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun! is a dissapointing afternoon parade given its short duration and inability to make a connection with guests. Clocking in at only 8 minutes in length, Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun! is alarmingly short and you may find yourself asking when it's done, "Was that it?". The parade moves fast and is over before you know it.
Compounding the problem is the content of the parade. While we see some new characters in Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun!, by in large, this parade is a re-themed copy of Block Party Bash parade, the parade that existed before this. Moreover, the feel of the parade is further cheapened by the fact the soundtrack (arguably the most important aspect of any good parade) is a short loop consisting mostly of Todd Rundgren's hit "Bang The Drum All Day".
Afternoon parades aren't for everyone but Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun! really misses the mark set by other afternoon parades. The previous two daytime parades at the Studios, Block Party Bash and Stars & Motor Cars Parade, were far superior displays and much more of an engaging experience. To be honest, there's very little merit in the parade. For devoted fans of the Pixar films shown here (Cars, Finding Nemo or WALL-E need not apply), there's something to enjoy here. For those that have enjoyed quality Disney World parades over the years, you may find yourself disappointed and underwhelmed.
